Childs who gave their time to officiate this enjoyable charity match on a very warm Sunday afternoon which saw Ashford Vets take on Bromley Green Vets in a good natured game. With a pre-match applause in memory of Barry Cunningham who sadly passed away in 2007 served as gentle reminder of the occasion. 018> Posted July 13: <NEWS> ASHFORD REFEREES OFFICIATE OPENING GAME AT HOMELANDS. Saturday 27th July 2013Opening game for Bromley Green FC against Herne Bay FC at Homelands. Report from Bromley Green: One of the major reasons for Saturday’s game being so entertaining, despite the lack of goals, was the performance of the three match officials who contributed to the spirit of the occasion by allowing play to continue rather than keep stopping proceedings for petty infringements. Glen Childs has officiated in a host of Green fixtures, mostly with youth, thirds and friendlies over the past two seasons as he learns his trade and we really want to see this young man go right to the top. Along with assistants Ricky Howlett and Darren Whipps, Glen applied commonsense throughout and both sides were full of compliments after the game. Well done gents!. (The game finished 0-0) Bromley Green FC
